Bucharest is situated on the banks of the Dambovita River, which flows into the Arges River, a tributary of the Danube. Several lakes - the most important of which are Lake Floreasca, Lake Tei and Lake Colentina - stretch across the city, along a tributary of the Dambovita, named the Colentina River. In addition, in the center of the capital there is a small artificial lake - Lake Cismigiu. The lake is surrounded by the Cismigiu Gardens, which were opened in 1847 after the plans of the German architect Carl F.W. Meyer and are currently the main recreational facility in the city centre. The Cismigiu Gardens have a rich history, being frequented by famous poets and writers.

The city is very pleasant, and even though it is not a must-see destination, it is certainly a great experience for those who want to see urban Transylvanian life at its best. Along with fine dining, excellent cultural activities, a wonderful historical legacy and a great atmosphere, the city will certainly not disappoint those who add it to their travel itinerary. What's more is the fact that Cluj (as it's called for short) is so easy to access and get around.

6 Suceava
The city is located in the north-eastern Romania. There are two types of geographical regions on which the city was built - the hills (the highest point is the Zamca Hill) and the meadows of the Suceava River valley. The unusual configuration of Suceava City includes two groves - Zamca and Sipote regions - which are both located in the city limits.
7 Piatra Neamt
The city's main attraction are the natural beauty of the area (the mountains and the lakes), the hystorical buildings, the museums and the festivals. Today, there are several programs in progress with the goal of transforming Piatra Neamt into an important touristic destination in Romania (the construction of the cable car ref in Romanian and the wintersports facilities).
8 Miercurea Ciuc - Cheile Bicazului
Neamt county is known as the region with most monasteries per square kilometer in the world. It boasts a rich and varied landscape, with elements of great beauty, and lots of cultural and historical vestiges. The local people are renowned for their hospitality.
